He started Merlinio as an alternative to the daunting, inefficient auto insurance buying process.
Jon started travel insurance as we know it today, first building products and digital distribution in the early days of online travel. And he’s a proven leader – most recently as the CEO and a co-founder of Fusion Company, a global digital merchandiser that employed real-time data analytics to increase ancillary product sales by some of the world’s largest airlines, healthcare companies, and insurers. Before that, he was the President, CEO, and co-founder of what is now Allianz Global Assistance, one of the largest travel insurance companies in the US, as well as American specialty insurer, Jefferson Insurance Company.
Jon builds things when they don’t exist -- co-founding and serving as the first president of the US Travel Insurance Association, the trade association of American insurers, brokers, and administrators specializing in travel insurance. And making it easy to buy auto insurance is next.

He has an extensive background in SEO, SEM, branding, UI/UX, product management, product management, innovation, marketing analytics, business process optimization and growing and scaling businesses efficiently.

Joe has lived in FinTech companies for 30+ years as a senior financial and operating executive. He’s been the CFO of Drive Factor (an $8 million VC-backed tech start-up), Managing Director and CFO of Greenwich Associates (a $100 million privately held professional services firm), Vice President and General Manager of Prentice Hall Legal & Financial Services (a $55 million business unit of Viacom) and CFO of a $100 million software & information services division of Simon & Schuster Publishing Company.
He’s the builder of business plans and financial models to make sure Merlinio meets our cash flow projections, hits our growth goals and squeezes out every bit of value for our customers and insurers.
Joe knows the insurance industry and what it takes to be accountable to stakeholders and be profitable. He’s led and closed capital and fundraising raising activities and had a successful exit with an auto insurance tech startup.
